Loan Officer Nguyen Thi Huong (Dien Chau branch, Nghe An province) has won Field Officer Appreciation Award 2016 in the Asia-Pacific region granted by Whole Planet Foundation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In TYM\u2019s annual meeting on Jan 22, 2016, Ms. Claire Kelly, Asia Pacific Regional Director of Whole Planet Foundation, handed the Field Officer Appreciation Award in Asia Pacific Region to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, loan officer of Dien Chau branch, Nghe An province. The Award acknowledges Ms. Huong\u2019s endeavors and contributions to the improvement of poor women\u2019s \u2019 economy and capacity building over the past years. For 8 years working for TYM, Ms. Huong overcame her family\u2019s difficulties to successfully fulfill her assigned tasks in TYM. Moreover, Ms. Huong always tried to learn about women\u2019s difficulties and needs and provided practical support to them.<\/p>\n

One of the members that gained support from Ms. Huong \u00a0is Mrs. Dinh Thi Huong in center 74, TYM\u2019s member since 2010, whose family is a poor household in the locality. Mrs. Huong\u2019s husband is incapable of working; her child suffers from kidney disease, and Mrs. Huong herself is weak. Mrs. Huong has availed loans from TYM to raise chicken and trade eels. However, Mrs. Huong did not have a transport vehicle so her business encountered many obstacles and did not generate much income. Understanding Mrs. Huong\u2019s situations, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong suggested Dien Chau branch to gift Mrs. Huong a bicycle for the convenience of her trading business. Since then, Mrs. Huong\u2019s family economy has developed sustainably, and the family is no longer the poor household in the region.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Ho\u00e0ng Th\u1ecb Li\u1ec5u, member of center 105, shall never forget that the little Nguy\u1ec5n Th\u1ecb H\u01b0\u01a1ng came a long way of nearly 15 km from Di\u1ec5n Ph\u00fac commune t\u01a1 \u0110i\u1ec7n Y\u00ean commune in the rain at dusk to give Mrs. Li\u00eau and her children several dozen kilos of rice and some food. Mrs. Li\u1ec7u\u2019s family is in difficulty and she plays the main role in her family. Her husband is mentally ill, her mother-in-law is old and weak and her 3 children are still young. At the time when Ms. Huong gave Mrs. Li\u1ec7u some food, her youngest child was only about 3 or 4 month old. Mrs. Lieu was not working, and she did not have any money left to buy food. Even though Mrs. Lieu did not tell anyone about her hard life, Ms. Huong knew Mrs. Li\u1ec7u\u2019s hardships by visiting her house. Ms. H\u01b0\u01a1ng th\u1eb9n helped Mrs. Li\u00eau and her family in a timely manner. Mrs. \u0110inh Th\u1ecb H\u01b0\u01a1ng and Mrs. Ho\u00e0ng Th\u1ecb Li\u1ec7u were two of the members who have received dedicated and practical support from Ms. Nguy\u1ec5n Th\u1ecb H\u01b0\u01a1ng.<\/p>\n

In her speech at the annual meeting, Ms. Claire Kelly highly appreciated TYM\u2019s and its staffs\u2019 endeavors and achievements over the past 6 years of cooperation. In the time to come, Whole Planet Foundation hopes that TYM continues to support poor women and develops sustainably.<\/p>\n

Year 2016 is the third year that a loan officer from TYM has the honor of receiving this award. This achievement is honorable for not only Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong but also for TYM and Dien Chau branch. It shall help enhance TYM\u2019s prestige and image in the thoughts of TYM\u2019s partners, donors and friends in Vietnam and overseas.<\/p>\n
