On October 31, 2023, TYM – Nam Truc Branch, Nam Dinh province organized a Conference to report on the results of implementing TYM’ activities in response to World Savings Day 2023 with the theme “Save today, step forward tomorrow.”
Attending the conference were Mrs. Tran Thi Tuyet Nhung, Deputy General Director of TYM, Mrs. Luu Thi Nhan, District Party Committee member, Chairwoman of Vietnam Women’s Union of Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province and the Chairwoman of Vietnam Women’s Union of 14 communes which has TYM activities in Nam Truc district.
World Savings Day (October 31) was first held in Italy in 1924 with the goal of raising awareness, promoting savings activities of the entire society, the core of which is financial savings, mainly to create abundant resources allocated for socio-economic development. To date, World Savings Day has been celebrated by many countries as a message to everyone: “Let’s save for ourselves today and in the future”. In Vietnam, World Savings Day has been known and celebrated since 2016. Every year, TYM responds to World Savings Day to: (+) Improve financial knowledge in general and form good habits of saving in particular; (+) Improve people’s understanding of TYM’s savings products, increase people’s confidence when depositing savings at TYM; and (+) Attract more people to save money at TYM in the future. In particular, in October 2023, TYM – Nam Truc Branch launched the program in response to World Savings Day with the theme “Save today, step forward tomorrow” in Nam Truc district to improve community awareness of the meaning of savings and encourage people to respond with specific actions.

At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuc, Director of TYM – Nam Truc Branch presented a report on the results of implementing the program to respond to World Savings Day 2023 in Nam Truc district. To respond to this event, TYM – Nam Truc Branch focused on 5 main activities: (1) Communication on the commune/district radio system about the meaning of savings and World Savings Day; (2) Propagate to TYM customers about savings and savings products at centers, customers’ homes, and public locations; (3) Giving gifts to customers on World Savings Day; (4) Encourage customers to accumulate and deposit savings at TYM; and (5) Organize an event to respond to World Savings Day at TYM – Nam Truc Branch. According to the report, the deposit growth of TYM – Nam Truc Branch in response to World Savings Day reached nearly 2.7 billion VND (more than 2.5 times higher than September). In October, there were 91 customers deposited term savings at TYM – Nam Truc Branch.
Mrs. Luu Thi Nhan, Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of Nam Truc district shared with the conference about effective savings models in the district to help women be more proactive in building plans to organize family life and saving money. On this occasion, the Chairwoman of Nam Truc District Women’s Union called for the Women’s Union of communes, towns to continue promoting propaganda for women, students and people to understand the meaning of saving: “Saving is necessary, the most feasible solution for the future of the family and of women themselves.”
Besides, the conference also heard many other meaningful shares from the attending delegates. That is the sharing of “Communication methods among staff and VWU members to improve financial knowledge and form savings habits for members” by the Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of Hong Quang commune (Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province), the topic “Savings education at the center for TYM customers” by the center head of center 27 and especially the story about effective savings practices of TYM customers.
The conference also praised the center heads of TYM – Nam Truc Branch for actively propagating savings and having the best achievements in mobilizing customers to deposit savings at TYM in October.
Speaking at the conference, Mrs. Tran Thi Tuyet Nhung congratulated the results that TYM – Nam Truc Branch as well as customers and TYM center leaders have achieved when implementing this program. Deputy General Director of TYM acknowledged the support of Vietnam Women’s Union at all levels in Nam Truc district with the program to respond to World Savings Day 2023 in particular and TYM activities in Nam Truc district in general. Talking about the meaning of saving, Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet Nhung affirmed that over the past 30 years, TYM, together with Vietnam Women’s Union and its members, realized the important role of saving as well as gradually forming the habit of saving. The Deputy General Director also requested TYM – Nam Truc Branch to actively communicate and spread the meaning of savings to VWU members and people.
In addition, at the conference, TYM – Nam Truc Branch awarded two “TYM – Giving wings to dreams” scholarships to TYM customers’ children.
