The project “Grow My Business: Capacity Building and Support for the Development of Small, Micro and Growing Women-Owned Enterprises in Vietnam” was approved by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union, aiming to reach out to and support female entrepreneurs to develop their businesses and actively participate in the digital economy.
With the goal of strengthening non-financial activities in TYM’s operations, in 2024, TYM will coordinate with the Center for Women and Development to implement the project “Grow My Business” with the aim of enhancing the capacity of TYM’s clients with knowledge about starting a business, enhancing project management and business operations, thereby helping TYM’s clients to implement and manage their projects well. This training activity applies a new approach in which clients are proactive in terms of time through online learning. This helps TYM customers get acquainted with and access learning on a digital technology platform.
Some activities in 2024 are as follows:
– In March 2024, 15 TYM staff at 3 branches (Thanh Hoa, Soc Son, Me Linh) and the Head Office attended the training course “Core staff – My business growth project” organized by the Asia Foundation in coordination with the Center for Women and Development with the aim of training core staff to support women participating in the training program “My business growth.”
– In April and May 2024, the project organized 5 level-2-TOT classes for 200 TYM staff and center leaders at Thanh Hoa, Nam Thanh Hoa, Soc Son, Me Linh branches. These are the people who will directly participate in the project’s online training activities for women members.
– After training, TYM staff will promote and guide TYM clients (target students of the project) to know and participate in the AMB Training Program, which focuses on capacity building activities by providing knowledge and skills on entrepreneurship and business, financial and digital literacy for micro and growing enterprises led by women in Vietnam. The AMB Training Program in Vietnam is divided into 23 lessons, specifically designed for 3 target groups: (i) Preparing to Start a Business, (ii) Starting a Business and (iii) Growing and Expanding. As of July 2024, TYM has introduced 2,226 TYM clients to participate, of whom 2,012 have completed 100% of the course. It is expected that in 2024, 3,360 TYM clients will have access to the training program. – In the past time, TYM staff have provided in-depth consultation to 281 trainees who have participated in the training. By the end of 2024, it is expected that at least 10% of the trainees will have completed the training, equivalent to 336 trainees receiving in-depth consultation.
– In particular, the project will organize 06 classes in which consultants will be invited to provide in-depth consultation/skill enhancement for businesses and trainees who want to participate (referred to as “specialized discussion”). Each specialized discussion session is for 20-30 previously trained trainees.
The project was approved by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union in Decision No. 3507/QD-DCT dated February 22, 2024, funded by the Asia Foundation from VISA’s financial resources and implemented by the Center for Women and Development, with the participation of 3 partners, including Tinh Thuong Microfinance Organization (TYM) and 2 other microfinance organizations in Vietnam.
