TYM Welcomed CARD MRI Delegation in Hanoi

07/05/2025

On April 22–23, 2025, a delegation of 12 staff members and clients from the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development – Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), Philippines, visited Tinh Thuong One-member Limited Liability Microfinance Institution (TYM) for an experiential learning trip. The visit included working sessions at TYM’s Headquarters and site visits to outstanding business models of TYM clients under TYM’s Soc Son Branch. This was not only an opportunity for practical exchanges and knowledge sharing in the field of microfinance but also opened up new avenues for international connection for clients of both organizations.

On the afternoon of April 22, 2025, the delegation visited TYM’s Headquarters at 20 Thuy Khue Street. Representing the delegation, Mr. Ruben M. Cuerdo, Head of the CARD MRI Delegation, shared:

“We sincerely thank TYM for the warm and thoughtful reception. This has been a truly meaningful trip. CARD MRI staff, members, and partners will have a wealth of valuable experiences to share regarding TYM’s clients and staff, as well as the strong ties between our two organizations. We feel very fortunate and proud to be part of this exchange and look forward to continuing such delegation programs in the future.”

Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet Nhung, Deputy General Director of TYM, welcomed CARD MRI delegation at TYM Headquarters.

As part of the visit, the delegation traveled to Soc Son District (Hanoi) to explore five outstanding economic models developed by TYM’s clients. Here, the delegates learned firsthand about the clients’ entrepreneurial journeys and participated in local production and cultural activities.
Notably, TYM facilitated connections between the delegation and local clients by promoting the use of clients’ food, tourism, and handmade products and services.

The delegation visited the rice painting production workshop run by Ms. Nguyen Thi Van (Center 105, Soc Son Branch), discovering this unique Vietnamese art form.
The delegation visited and stayed at the homestay booked by Ms. Dinh Thi Hanh Duyen, a TYM client from Soc Son Branch.
At the breakfast eatery of client Ms. Vu Thi Thu (Center 18, Soc Son Branch), delegates were guided on how to prepare a traditional bowl of Vietnamese beef pho and enjoyed the dish together.
They explored the VAC (Garden–Pond–Livestock) integrated farming model of Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhuan (Center 13, Soc Son Branch) to learn about sustainable agriculture practices.
At the Hieu Thao Restaurant operated by Ms. Luu Thi Le Uyen (Center 15, Soc Son Branch), delegates participated in a hands-on session making traditional Vietnamese spring rolls and tasted other local specialties.

This marked the first time TYM has hosted an international delegation for an experiential microfinance program that also included visits to client business models and direct product promotion. Through this event, TYM’s clients were not only supported in their economic development but also gradually introduced to international environments, helping them improve communication skills, boost confidence, and promote their products and services to foreign visitors.

TYM hopes to welcome more international delegations in the future, thereby expanding business and market opportunities for clients, and supporting their journey—especially women’s empowerment—toward global integration.
