On May 28, 2026, in Can Tho, Tinh Thuong One-member Limited Liability Microfinance Institution (TYM) participated in the Conference on the Review of the Climate Risk Finance Initiative for Agriculture in Vietnam Project, jointly organized by the Department of Cooperatives and Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and Deutsche Gesellschaft Für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
Representing TYM at the conference were Mr. Phung Dinh Kien, Deputy General Director of TYM, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang, Deputy Director of TYM – Y Yen Branch.
The conference brought together representatives from ministries, government agencies, local authorities, financial institutions, insurance companies, cooperatives, and development organizations to review the implementation results of the AgriCRF Project during the 2024 to 2026 period. It also served as a platform to share practical experience and propose solutions to strengthen access to climate change adaptation finance for the agriculture and rural sectors.
During the conference, TYM was honored to be one of the organizations awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Director General of the Department of Cooperatives and Rural Development for “Outstanding performance in the effective implementation of the Climate Risk Finance Initiative for Agriculture in Vietnam Project.”

Mr. Phung Dinh Kien, Deputy General Director of TYM, received the award on behalf of TYM (the fourth person from the left)

Certificate of Merit awarded to TYM by the Department of Cooperatives and Rural Development.
Through its participation in the AgriCRF Project, TYM has worked closely with project experts and relevant stakeholders to implement various innovative initiatives in microfinance linked to climate change adaptation and sustainable development. One key achievement was the research, development, and deployment of a digital credit scoring tool integrated into the TYM Mobile application to strengthen credit risk management and support digital transformation in microfinance operations. As of the end of April 2026, more than 100,000 loan applications across the TYM network had been assessed using the credit scoring system.
In addition, TYM piloted and expanded its green credit product to support clients in investing in environmentally friendly production, business, and consumption activities. During the pilot phase at TYM Y Yen and Dien Chau branches, the product enabled 759 clients to access funding, with total loan disbursement exceeding VND 26 billion, while maintaining zero overdue loans and zero non-performing loans. Since March 2026, the product has been rolled out across the entire TYM branch network.
Alongside lending activities, TYM has also conducted various training and capacity building programs for staff and clients on green credit, climate risk management, green production practices, and green consumption. These efforts have contributed to raising community awareness of environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and sustainable livelihood development in rural areas.
Notably, at the International Seminar on Climate Risk Finance in Agriculture organized under the project, TYM delivered two presentations on the role of microfinance in enhancing people’s resilience to climate related risks and shared practical experience in implementing green credit and digital transformation at TYM.

According to the conference assessment, agricultural insurance, green credit, and microfinance solutions in Vietnam are gradually shifting from a disaster relief approach to a proactive financial risk management approach. In this transition, microfinance institutions play an important role in expanding financial access for women and rural communities.
Receiving this Certificate of Merit is a meaningful recognition of TYM’s continuous efforts in promoting financial inclusion, advancing green finance, and supporting women and rural communities in adapting to climate change toward sustainable development.
