Nearly 20 years of working with TYM has helped Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong in Ninh Giang District (Hai Duong) not only have capital but also have the mindset to rise up and do business, develop the family economy.

Recently, we had the opportunity to visit the gai cake production facility of Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong’s family in Tranh Xuyen Village, Dong Tam Commune (Ninh Giang). Indeed, Ms. Huong’s family has been quite successful with this traditional industry production model.

Currently, Ms. Huong’s family’s gai cake production facility sells about 1,000 cakes per day, with a selling price of 5,000 VND/cake, earning about 1.8 billion VND/year. Her family’s facility is ensuring stable jobs for 20 workers, with an income of about 50 million VND/person/year. The work is easy and the income is stable compared to many other jobs in the countryside, so the workers are committed and enthusiastic about their work.

According to Ms. Huong, this result is partly thanks to her loan from the TYM. Ms. Huong said that nearly 20 years ago, she took out a loan from TYM. At that time, her family was quite difficult due to unstable income and could not borrow money to do business. The loan of 3 million VND from TYM at that time was a large amount of money for her, especially because the loan was simple and did not require any collateral. Ms. Huong used this money to invest in small grocery stores and selling breakfast at home. Although the work was hard, thanks to her diligence and hard work, the income was enough to help her family cover daily expenses. Since then, Ms. Huong has continued to take out loans from TYM every year to invest in additional business. Gradually, the amount of loan availed from TYM has increased each year.

In 2010, after attending the “Gender and Business” training course organized by TYM Hai Duong branch, Ms. Huong had a new perspective and changed her business thinking. She boldly switched to the model of producing gai cake – a traditional profession in the locality. At that time, Ms. Huong’s family had a capital of 100 million VND. She decided to apply for a loan and TYM agreed to lend her 30 million VND to have more capital to start a business.

After 19 years of working hard and working with TYM, Ms. Huong and her family have built a decent foundation that many people dream of. Not only does she have a large-scale gai cake production facility, but her family has also opened 2 restaurants in Ninh Giang town. The income from the business not only helps her family have a comfortable life but also has money for her 3 children to study abroad in Korea.

Ms. Huong shared that although her family’s economy is quite good and her children are grown up, she still maintains the principle of having discipline in family finance. No matter what the circumstances, there must still be labor and savings. Joining TYM, she learned this, helping her family succeed, creating a solid foundation for her children to follow.
