On June 28, 2019, in the coastal area of Hai Phong City, about 34 nautical miles from the south of Bach Long Vi Island, there was a collision between the Pacific cargo vessel and the fishing vessel NA 95899 TS which caused the fishing vessel to sink. 6 out of 10 dead/missing victims are relatives of TYM members at Quynh Luu branch, Nghe An province. Knowing the news, TYM’s director promptly visited and shared the sorrow of the families of members in this sinking.
On the sunken fishing vessel, there were 19 fishermen in Tien Thuy commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province. 9 people were rescued, 1 was passed away and found; to date, 9 people are still missing. Of the 9 missing and 1 passed away, 6 are husband/children of TYM members. In particular, Ms. Thai Thi Luy, a member of Center 36, had both husband and a child who are victims of the accident. Her husband died and the son is still missing.
On July 4, 2019, on behalf of TYM, General Director Duong Thi Ngoc Linh came to share, motivate and hand over the support to each family. TYM hopes that timely encouragement and support would help them somewhat relieve their pain and continue to try to overcome these difficult days.
