On October31st, 2016 in Hanoi, TYM successfully held a preliminary conference to evaluate the performance of the third quarter, to discuss plans for the next quarter as well as the 25th anniversary ceremony of TYM in 2017.
Joining the conference there were Mrs. Duong Thi Ngoc Linh – member of the Presidium of Vietnam Women’s union cum TYM’s general director, members of TYM’s Board of General Directors, managers and assistant managers of the five departments of the Head Office, all branch directors and vice directors, and staffsof the Head Office. Especially, there was the participation of Mr. Joerg Teumer, Representative of Savings Banks Foundation for International Co-operation.
In the conference, Mr. Phung Dinh Kien, manager of the Research and Development Department presented in details the results of all activities in the last quarter and focused tasks in Q4/2016.
In Q3/2016, with its staffs’ efforts, TYM continued to reach important targets of membership growth, disbursement and savings. By the end of Q3/2016, TYM had 127,974 members/clients, which increased 4,117 members/clients since the end of Q2/2016, achieving 101.9% compared to the planed. The total amount disbursed and the savings balance in Q3 reached 113.9% and 124% respectively compared to the planed, and the payment rate was 99.99%.
In regardsto capacity building, community support,and charityactivities, in Q3/2016, TYM organized 60 training classes for 3,174 centre leaders, 29 seminarsfor 1,450membersin branches: Soc Son, Phuc Yen, Hai Hau, Y Yen, Do Luong, Quynh Luu, Bac Ninh and Nam Truc. TYM also organized exposure visits for members in Thanh Hoa, Phuc Yen, Y Yen, Me Linhbranches. In addition, TYM gave 81 gifts on the Remberance Day of July 27th, handed over subsidized houses for members in Bac Ninh, Soc Son, Nghi Loc, Y Yen branches with the total amount of VND 120 million, and offered financial contributions to new rural programs through branches of Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, My Loc, Y Yen, Hung Yen.
Besides theaboveachievements in the 3rd quarter, TYM also experienced a number of challenges: decrease in the demand for loans, competitions of other institutions and banks…Lang Giang branch of Bac Giang province and Bac Ninh branch found it difficult to develop membership.
In her speech at the conference, Mrs. Duong Thi Ngoc Linh, TYM’s general director highly appreciated the effort of all branches and staffs to fulfill TYM’s plans. She emphasized that the solidarity spirit for the general development of TYM was an important aspect helping each staff to develop his/her full potential and strength for the sustainable growth of TYM. For Q4/2016, all branches were required to closely follow the set-out plan to fulfill successfully the operation plan of the whole year 2016 as well as to make achievementsinhonor of the 25th anniversary ceremony of TYM in 2017. Mrs. Ngoc Linh also provided guidance that branches should consider realistic, appropriate, and diverse activities for the 25th anniversary of TYM to enhance good relationship and close friendship between TYM and its members.
