On 6th October, 2015, in TYM’s head office, TYM had the honor to welcome Mr. Jeff Turnas, a member of the Management Board of Whole Planet Foundation cum the president of 365 by Whole Foods Market.
Having discussed with Mrs. Duong Thi Ngoc Linh – TYM’s general director, Mr. Jeff Turnas was so happy with the achievements that TYM and its members had achieved in this project in general and in all other activities of TYM in particular. He even more than satisfied when hearing that TYM’s clients used loans as planned to improve their family income and could make repayment without default. Besides, he highly valued TYM’s effort in holding social activities, capacity building programs and charities for women and society, as well as in using meaningfully the WFP’s grants. All contributed to guarantying and improving the effectiveness of using the grants of WPF. He said “managements and officers of Whole Foods Market must be extraordinary happy when they know that their financial contribution to the poor has achieved such good results”. He also shared WPF generally and himself specifically would be always willing to support TYM to bring about a more prosperous and happy life for Vietnamese Women.
| Highly evaluating TYM’s socio-economic support for poor women, in 2011, WPF supported TYM with a loan to widen its financial and non-financial services to women in Song Cong and Phu Binh districts, Thai Nguyen province. In 2014, having seen the good results of this program, WPF changed this loan to the grant to help TYM increase their capital as well as widen their access to poor and low income women in other districts such as Thuan Thanh (Bac Ninh province), Xuan Truong (Nam Dinh province) and Dong Anh (Ha Noi). Simultaneously, WPF also provided TYM with an additional grant. Up to this time, thanks to these meaningful support, TYM has disbursed 3,756 loans for clients with total amount of more than VND 33 billion and reached the payment rate of 100%. |
As a part of the schedule, Mr. Turnas visited TYM’s client shop where TYM’s clients was facilitated to consign and directly introduced their goods as well as widen their connection to providers and consumers. He highly valued this method because it was not only practical but also synchronized with other TYM’s activities aiming at supporting women in developing their economy and raising their social position.
Finishing his visit, Mr. Tunas wished TYM and its members more and more success in the process of developing and improving the position of Vietnamese women. He also expressed his desire to join a center meeting and meet TYM’s clients right in their hometowns.
Through the visit of Mr. Turnas, TYM hopes that Whole Foods Market’s managements and officers will satisfy with what TYM and its members have achieved, and that the image of Vietnamese women also accesses closer to international friends to get more and more support in their process of development. TYM ourselves will try our best to multiply happiness and achieve more success.
