2015 Citi-Vietnam Microentrepreneurship Awards (CMA) Ceremony

The 9th CMA Ceremony was held in Hanoi on 04/12/2015. In the Ceremony there were over 200 delegates representing ministries, agencies, unions, sponsors, local and foreign organizations, typical micro-entrepreneurs and microfinance institutions winners of CMA 2015.

 

The Citi – Vietnam Microentrepreneurship Awards is held annually to honor the microentrepreceurs that have used effectively micro capital to escape poverty and get better life as well as have actively contributed to the development of community. The CMA program is also to recognize the typical microfinance institutions who have significantly contributed to the development of the microfinance sector and to the alleviation of poverty in the country. The program is held by the Advisory Centre for Microfinance Resources for Small and Medium Enterprises (formerly Vietnam Microfinance Working Group – VMFWG) in coordination with Citi Foundation/ Citi Bank – Vietnam, Vietnam Small and Medium Enterprises Association (VINASME) and with the support of the State Bank of Vietnam.

Under the CMA this year, TYM submitted applications for its members who had typical economic models and was out of poverty thanks to microfinance activities. TYM did not apply for awards for microfinance institutions.

In the framework of the program, TYM honored to be recognized with 4 awards of “typical microfinance clients” for 4 members. They included Ms. Ta Thi Trang (My Loc Branch, Nam Dinh province) with the daisies planting model, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thanh (Phuc Yen Branch, Vinh Phuc province) with the statuary production model, Ms. Nguyen Thi An (Hung Nguyen Branch, Nghe An province) with the peanut oil production model and Ms. Le Thi Nhung (Nghi Loc branch, Nghe An province) with the incense production model.
