On the morning of July 18th 2018, TYM held a workshop to evaluate the results of the program “Enhancing Small Business Management for Female Entrepreneurs” and connect female entrepreneurs. In the workshop, there was TYM’s Board of Directors, representatives from the Vietnam Women’s Academy, the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association, TYM officers, and more than 100 project beneficiaries including TYM members and VWU members.
With the support of the Citi Foundation, the program “Enhancing Small Business Management Skill for Female Entrepreneurs” has been implemented in 07 branches in 05 provinces of Nam Dinh, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc , Thanh Hoa and Nghe An from July 2017 to July 2018.
TYM has coordinated with the local Women’s Unions, the Vietnam Women’s Academy, the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association and reputable corporate management training providers to provide training for members, as well as to connect and introduce them to join the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association. During the program, TYM organized 20 training courses for 200 TYM and VWU’s members to provide them with knowledge and skills in business (financial management, human resource management, branding, relationship management, etc.).
During the workshop, on behalf of the beneficiaries in Tinh Gia, Thanh Hoa, Ms. Pham Thi Hong shared about the changes that she herself, her family and other members in her center have experienced thanks to TYM’s training. They have been equipped with more knowledge to apply in production and business. They have completely changed their business practices from experience-based to clear and detailed planning-based. In particular, she also proposed some suggestions to increase access for members to learning and funding opportunities.
Speaking at the workshop, Chairwoman of the Women’s Union in Hoang Mai Town, Nghe An province, Ms. Ho Thi Hang highly appreciated the practicality, timeliness and relevance of this program in the current context. Through the training, the members have made fundamental changes in awareness and improvement in business management and operation including business planning, funding, identification of potential customers, advertising strategies, network connection and efficient use of labor.
Also in this workshop, TYM awarded 20 honors to the members who have achieved excellent results in the training course. In order to open the business network for female entrepreneurs, TYM also spent time for TYM/WU’s members to meet and discuss with Ms. Cao Thi Hong Van – Secretary General of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association. During the discussion, they found answers to their concerns about business management as well as realized the benefits when becoming a member of the Association.
At the end of the workshop, TYM General Director Duong Thi Ngoc Linh expressed her satisfaction to the results of the program. She also shared that in the coming time TYM would offered more management capacity building not only for TYM’s members but also for VW’s members.
With the remarkable results, TYM would continue to provide support to the members in applying the knowledge in daily life and work closely with the local authorities and the Women’s Union to find and facilitate favorable policies for economic development.
