On July 17, 2023, 21 staff and customers from the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD MRI) visited two typical microfinance models of the Vietnam Women’s Union, Tinh Thuong One member Limited liability Microfinance Instittution (TYM).
In the morning, the delegation visited two customers of TYM at Vinh Phuc branch. The first client was Ms. Nguyen Thi Tot, a customer who is availing TYM’s policy loan for women with disabilities and multi-purpose loan. The second client was Ms. Nguyen Thi Nam who is availing TYM’s investment loan. Here, the delegation listened to TYM’s customers’ explanation about their business and secrets of success for jackfruit growing model and the effective use of the loans that TYM has lent to them. CARD MRI delegation also saw the role of Vietnam Women’s Unions at all levels in directing and accompanying TYM’s microfinance activities in the locality.
Mr. Raffy Antes, Deputy Director of CARD Hijos Tours, Head of the delegation shared: “We were very impressed with the economic models and stories of TYM customers that the delegation visited. The customers of CARD MRI also shared that they would learn and implement these effective economic models when they return to the Philippines”. Mr. Raffy Antes expressed his appreciation for TYM’s warm reception: “For a long time, TYM and CARD MRI have been like a family. So when I visit TYM and listen to your stories, I feel very familiar.” He also expressed his deep impression at TYM and TYM’s members during this visit and hoped that the two parties would continue to exchange delegations in the near future to enhance the understanding of culture and economic development models of women of the two countries.
In the afternoon, TYM received the delegation at the Head Office. Besides introducing to the delegation about the activities of the Vietnam Women’s Union and TYM, TYM invited the delegation to visit the showroom and introduce products of TYM clients.

Alip supported the Vietnam Women’s Union with knowledge and techniques to operate microfinance activities and built relationships with donors to establish the Affectionate Fund (the predecessor of Tinh Thuong One Member Limited Liability Microfinance Institution (TYM)). Since then, CARD MRI has continued to support and cooperate with the Vietnam Women’s Union in general and TYM in particular. |
