From 25 to 27 August 2014, TYM welcomed a delegation of Rabobank to visit its branches. The purpose of this visit was to learn about the rural culture of Vietnam, and consider to support capacity building and economic development for TYM’s clients through the promotion of their production and services activities.
During the 3-day visit, the Rabobank delegation with nine experts went to many places to visit farmers who were TYM’s members. They had a chance to experience a normal working day of these members, which included housework, production, breeding, cultivation, and some other family economic development activities.
The delegation visited three places including Thanh Son-Phu Tho, Phu Binh-Thai Nguyen and Cua Lo-Nghe An. Visiting a tea plantation model of a TYM’s member – Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen – in Thanh Son, the delegation had an opportunity to observe all tea production stages including tea picking, drying, slicing, packing and labeling. In addition, the delegation also visited clean vegetables farms of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thoa in Phu Binh –Thai Nguyen, as well as a fish sauce production facility of Ms.Trinh Thi Ly in Cua Lo – Nghe An.
The visit left a good impression on each member of the Rabobank delegation. At each place, the delegation was always greeted with friendly smiles. They could experience the real life of Vietnamese people. Additionally, they had a chance to learn about Vietnamese production habits and customs. The overall impression was that the TYM members were very hard working and willing to take efforts to overcome difficulties in life. They had the abilities, determination and enterprise. They just needed financial support, technical assistance, and knowledge training etc. These were the things that TYM and its partners were working on to bring them.
