On the 11th of May 2017, Center No.25 –Y Yen Branch in Lam town, Y Yen district, Nam Dinh province received a parliamentary delegation from the state of Saxony Germany. During this visit, the deputies learned about TYM’s activities.
25 deputies participated in the center meeting with TYM’s members. After listening to the performance report of Center No.25 over the last 20 years and the work plan for 2017, the delegation also attended a seminar about “5 no’s, 3 clean’s” of the center. This initiative is one of the outstanding movements launched by the Vietnam Women’s Union for all its members and was strongly supported by women nationwide.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Andre Wendt, Chairman of the Committee for social issues of Saxony state, said that he was happy for the significant accomplishments and changes that the members of Center No.25 had achieved for more than two decades working with TYM. During this visit, he expressed the delegation’s desire to cooperate with TYM to better support Vietnamese women, especially disadvantaged women. The delegation was grateful for the hospitality shown by TYM, its members and local leaders. Ms. Kopping, Minister for Equality and Integration of Saxony state, also delivered a speech in the center meeting on this occasion. She was rejoiced and impressed by what members in center no. 25 had done and contributed to empowering women in Vietnam.To conclude, the deputies of Saxony State together sang a traditional German song in return for the warm welcome of the center.
After the center meeting, the delegation visited two members: Ms. Vu Thi Pha of Center No. 31 and Ms. Tran Thi Phuong of Center No. 77 of Y Yen branch. Both are currently availing loans and receiving many other supports from TYM. Ms. Vu Thi Pha has very difficult living conditions. She currently has a policy loan and will be given a subsidized house by TYM this year. Ms. Tran Thi Phuong is a mature member of the branch. She has a stable economic status and is borrowing a large-sized loan from TYM to invest in her family’s carpentry workshop.
Saying good bye to the TYM’s members – Y Yen branch, Nam Dinh, the Parliamentry delegation expressed their wish to have more opportunities to return to Vietnam to visit and support Vietnamese women.
