TYM – Nghi Loc Branch, Transaction Office 03 hands over a subsidized house to members

Welcoming us in the hustle and bustle, busy preparing to welcome the traditional Tet of the nation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien’s family in center 34, block 1 – Nghi Tan ward – Cua Lo town, Nghe An, could not hide their joy: “I’m so happy, I didn’t expect that there will be a day when my family* will be able to celebrate Tet in such a beautiful house”. It was the subsidized home that her family has just been supported to build by TYM and mass organizations in Cua Lo in 2022.

Joining TYM in 2016, Ms. Lien’s family is a particularly difficult member in the locality because most of her family members have serious and chronic diseases. Her husband is 70 years old, old and weak, with severe asthma. Her son has a herniated disc, has difficulty walking, has year-round treatment, and is unable to work. Her daughter-in-law suffered from sciatica, brittle bones and shaking hands. Two grandchildren are still young and suffer from chronic bronchitis. The whole family only relies on Ms. Lien’s meager monthly allowance of Ms. Lien’s job as a cleaner collecting garbage in the block and a little money from collecting scrap. Ms. Lien herself is also very weak, she is often sick. She often has to take a lot of medicine. Ms. Lien’s 6 family members had to live in a shack, about 20m2 wide, which was temporarily built with dash bricks, columns made of bamboo, roof patchwork of corrugated iron, fibro cement and canvas. The floor was plastered, degraded, peeling and damp. Whenever there was a storm, a cold wind, the whole family was always worried about the house could collapse at any time. Her family’s biggest dream for many years is to have a stable home so that they no longer has to stay up all night to fight the rain.

Understanding her family’s desire, on July 1, 2022, TYM decided to sponsor Ms. Lien’s family 40 million VND to build a house. Joy came with anxiety and concern when in addition to this 40 million dong, her family did not have any more money. Ms. Doan Thi Hai, the head of center 34, together with TYM – Nghi Loc Branch – Transaction Office 03, reported to the leaders to mobilize the resources to support Ms. Lien’s family. After the town’s Fatherland Front Committee mobilized, her family was supported by the town’s Vietnam Women’s Union with 40 million dong, 30 million from the Cred Cross, and 10 million from the “Bodhi mind” club, mass organizations of Nghi Tan ward helped with working days and supervision. After nearly two months, on September 13, 2022, her family was handed over a new solid house with an area of nearly 50m2.

On the day of receiving the new house, Ms. Lien’s family was also supported by the Fatherland Front Committee of Cua Lo town with 20 million dong to develop their livelihoods, and the staff of Transaction Office 03 and members of center 34 donated household items. With the support of TYM and the cooperation of organizations and individuals in Cua Lo, Ms. Lien’s family life has changed since then. We still remember in the process of supporting Ms. Lien’s family, Mr. Nguyen Van Dan, Vice Chairman of Cua Lo Town Environmental Committee once shared that the amount of TYM’s support, although not large, it is very important, it has the meaning of starting to create the house…

Spring is coming bustling all over the country road. TYM wishes all members of TYM and their families a peaceful and prosperous new year!
