In the afternoon of March 6th, 2018, in Bac Xa commune, Dinh Lap district, Lang Son province, Vietnam Women’s Union together with High Command of Border Guard celebrated a gift-giving event within the framework ofthe program“Together with women at the frontier 2018-2020”. This is the first commune out of 100 communes in 26 frontier provinces that celebrated this event.
During the ceremony, TYM’s General Director Madame Duong Thi Ngoc Linh, handed gifts worth VND 171 million VND to 57 poor households in Bac Xa commune so that they can build new lavatories. 140 gifts were given to 140 poor women by the representatives of the Vietnam Women’s Union, the High Command of Border Guard and the Red cross of Vietnam. TYM and many other units committed to help Bac Xa commune, especially the women of this commune in the 2018-2020 period. This is a good sign of the sucess of the program “Together with women at the frontier” for the next 3 years.
“Together with women at the frontier 2018-2020” program was launched with aim to help poor people and ethnic minorities in the communes at the frontier encouraging them to join to protect Vietnam’s border. The program also contributed to the success of the 12th Women’s Congress Resolution and the socio-economic development from now to 2020.
