On the afternoon of September 14, 2018, Lao’s Women’s Union paid a visit to TYM as part of the Lao’s Women’s Union (LWU) Training Course in 2018.
The delegation consists of 25 leaders from Lao’s Women’s Union, Provincial Women’s Union and some female staff from ministries and sectors of the Lao. Knowing TYM is an exemplary microfinance model of the VWU, the delegation asked TYM to organize this sharing.
TYM focused presenting about TYM’s products, services and contributions to the achievement of sustainable development goals for poverty reduction, social security, gender equality, economic growth and generation of stable jobs. In addition, TYM also shared lessons learned after more than 26 years of establishment and development, carrying out its mission of supporting women. TYM’s presentation attracted the attention of the participants. With practical microfinance activities co-operated with the activities of the Women’s Union, TYM also received many questions and wishes to share more about the policies and social services provided by TYM.
Also in the meeting, Deputy General Director Dao Thanh Trang said that TYM made significant contributions in building a special relationship and affection between the VWU and LWU. In particular, since 2008, under the direction of the Vietnam Women’s Union, TYM has started supporting the Lao’s Women and Family Development Fund (WFDF) to build a microfinance fund in Laos through by technical assistance.
At the end of the meeting, the Lao Women’s Union was deeply impressed by the warm welcome from TYM. On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Ninpaseuth Xayaphonesy, Head of the Women’s Development Department of Lao’s Women’s Union highly appreciated TYM’s activities and wished that in the future TYM would continue to support WFDF with more activities.
