Ms. Hoang Thi Nguyet, A typical example of “Women Entrepreneurship” through microfinance capital from TYM

Ms. Hoang Thi Nguyet, Head of the Women’s Union Branch of Bac Lien Hamlet, leader of Loan Group 17 under Center 17 in Vinh Hung Ward, Nghe An Province, formerly Nghi Lien Commune, Vinh City, Nghe An Province, is widely known as a capable and active woman. She is recognized as an energetic, dynamic, and dedicated Women’s Union officer, as well as an exemplary TYM group leader who is committed, responsible, and always accompanies women members in developing their livelihoods and improving their quality of life. She is also an outstanding member in the movements “Women Entrepreneurship” and “Women actively study, work creatively, and build happy families”.

Starting from hardship and rising through determination

Born and raised in a farming family, Ms. Nguyet faced many hardships during the early years of marriage, as her family struggled with financial difficulties and unstable income. These circumstances strengthened her determination to overcome poverty and improve her family’s economic situation. In 2010, recognizing the growing demand for safe food products, she boldly started her business in pork sausage processing. At the beginning, her family’s sausage production and processing facility cooperated with Chau Sinh Sausage Production Facility, owned by her elder sister, located in Residential Block 4, Quan Hanh Town, Nghi Loc District, Nghe An Province. During the initial stage, she faced many challenges, including limited capital, lack of experience, difficulty in accessing markets, and unattractive product packaging, which caused discouragement on many occasions. However, with her hardworking and resilient nature, she persisted through every challenge and remained determined to build prosperity in her hometown. With support from TYM, she gained access to flexible microfinance loans over the years, ranging from VND 10 million to VND 50 million. She also received training in financial management and business management skills. This support enabled her to gradually expand production, invest in a semi-automated production line, and ensure food hygiene and safety standards. In 2020, her facility became an independent business specializing in pork sausage products. Over the years, Nguyet Tuyen Sausage Production and Processing Facility has become one of the largest producers in Vinh City. In 2024, her product “Nguyet Tuyen Clean Pork Sausage” was certified as a provincial 3-star OCOP product, marking a major milestone that recognized her continuous efforts.

A dedicated Women’s Union officer serving the community

In addition to being successful in business, Ms. Nguyet is also an active Women’s Union Branch Head. In this role, she regularly communicates and encourages women in the community to participate in TYM programs, access loans, share business experiences, and learn effective saving and investment practices. She also proactively connects women members working in similar sectors to form small production cooperatives, helping improve business efficiency and create employment opportunities for many local women.

Under her leadership, the Women’s Union Branch of Bac Lien Hamlet has consistently been recognized as a strong and outstanding unit for many years. She herself has received multiple commendations from the City Women’s Union and TYM Head Office for her positive contributions to women’s development movements and sustainable poverty reduction.

For Ms. Nguyet, success is not only about personal economic growth but also about inspiring entrepreneurial spirit within the community. “Helping one woman become financially stronger means helping an entire family become more stable and happier”, she shared.

Ms. Hoang Thi Nguyet is a representative image of the modern TYM woman: Courageous in entrepreneurship, confident in building a legitimate and sustainable livelihood, and wholeheartedly devoted to the community.
