The program “Accompanying with women at the frontiers” was launched and implemented by the Central Vietnam Women’s Union in coordination with the Border Guard High Command. In the first phase of 2018-2020, the program has achieved many practical results, attracted attention, aroused responsibility and the cooperation of agencies, organizations and individuals to support the mountainous areas, borders and islands.
In response to this program, TYM and the Ethnic Minority and Religious Affairs Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union have implemented support to Bac Xa commune, Dinh Lap district, Lang Son province. In 2018, TYM assisted 71 women’s member families to build lavatories to ensure environmental sanitation. On January 8, 2020, back to Bac Xa, TYM and the Ethnic Minority and Religious Affairs Department of the Vietnam Women’s Union collaborated with the Provincial Women’s Union and the Lang Son Provincial Border Guard Command to organize a meeting greeting soldiers at Bac Xa border on the occasion of Tet, visit and encourage women and students in difficult circumstances.
During this trip, TYM presented a television to the Bac Xa border post and presented gifts to 10 disadvantaged women and 5 poor students overcoming difficulties. The Youth Union of TYM together with the Youth Union of the Committee for Ethnic Minority and Religious Affairs gave 15 warm shirts to disadvantaged children there.
