On the 29th of August 2018, TYM held the launching ceremony of its operation in Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province. TYM has officially covered its activities in the whole province of Nam Dinh.
The event was attended by Madame Duong Thi Ngoc Linh, Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam Women’s Union cum TYM’s General Director, Madame Nguyen Thi Ha, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women’s Union of Nam Dinh province, Mr. Pham Duc Ta, Party secretary of Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province together with representatives of the Party Committee, the Government, the Women’s Union at the district and commune level l in Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province.
Introduction of TYM’s activities in Nam Truc Branch and especially the speech of General Director Duong Thi Ngoc Linh gained much attention of delegates. Madame Linh expressed joy because finally TYM had the opportunity to have access to 100% of women living in Nam Dinh. She also shared that the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) implements microfinance as political tasks of the VWU as well as support for women in the local economic development, contributing to the country’s poverty reduction.
Shortly thereafter, Mr. Pham Duc Ta, Secretary of the Giao Thuy District Party Committee, Nam Dinh Province, as a representative of local leaders, delivered a speech. He affirmed that a practical model such as TYM should be promoted and expanded to help local women have the opportunity to develop their economy. At the same time, he suggested that the leaders of the Party Committee, the Government and the Women’s Union provide conditions for TYM to operate in the whole Giao Thuy district. Hopefully, the activities of TYM in Giao Thuy district will reap much success and contribute to improve the lives of people there.
At the launching ceremony, TYM also handed over 22 gifts to disadvantaged women in Giao Thuy district. As one of the people receiving this support, Ms. Cao Thi Mai felt deeply moved. She shared, “Until now, I have just borrowed from relatives and friends. After listening to the introduction of TYM’s activities, I hope that TYM will create conditions for disadvantaged households such like mine to have the opportunity to take out loans at preferential interest rates to do business and help our children have a good education. “
Giao Thuy, a district of Nam Dinh province, belongs to Nam Truc branch of TYM. As TYM expands its operation Giao Thuy district, TYM has now cover 10 out of 10 districts in Nam Dinh province under the management of total 4 branches namely Y Yen, Nam Dinh city, Hai Hau and Nam Truc with a total of over 21,000 client members.
