18/02/2020

On February 5, 2020 at TYM headquarters in Hanoi, TYM General Director Nguyen Thi Thu Hien presented a donation to support CARD MRI members, Philippines.

On 13/01/2020, TYM received information about Calabarzon (including 5 provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Central Luzon, National Capital Region), where many members of CARD MRI are living in has been severely affected by the sudden eruption of Taal volcano. Tons of ash traveled 100 km, causing serious air pollution and especially thick fog, causing traffic accidents to skyrocket and seriously affect the lives and health of Filipinos. More than 13,000 people have been moved to evacuation centers. About 2.17 million CARD MRI members in those areas are directly or indirectly in need of support for basic necessities to stabilize their lives.

With the spirit of solidarity and support for friends at times of difficulty, TYM has called on TYM staff to voluntarily contribute to and support CARD MRI members and their families with material and spiritual support. This donation received enthusiastic participation from TYM leaders and staff. On February 5, 2020, TYM General Director Nguyen Thi Thu Hien handed TYM staff’s financial support to Ms. Neri Agliam, representative of CARD MRI in Vietnam. TYM hopes CARD MRI staff and members will soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives after the disaster.
